Anton Marklund is back with GC KOMPETITION at the helm of 'GCK Bilstein' in the 2020 FIA World Rallycross Championship, with sole focus on challenging the Drivers’ World Title. Further cementing the relationship between GCK, German suspension specialists Bilstein, and Swedish driver Anton Marklund, now in its 2nd and 3rd year respectively, GCK Bilstein will build on the last couple of years of dedicated development of the GCK Mégane R.S. RX to fight for the title.

Starting with GC KOMPETITION back in the second half of 2018, Anton showed his trust in the team by committing to be a key part in the development of the GCK Mégane R.S. RX, helping to turn it into the beast it is today. Following additional work on the car over winter, including development on the engine and a new evolution of the Bilstein dampers, Anton is perfectly set to battle at the top of the timesheets in 2020.

Anton started his racing career at the age of 15 and, after four years competing nationally, Marklund raced in a European Championship for the first time in 2011. Driving in the rear-wheel drive TouringCar category,  in 2012 he secured his first European title.

In 2013, Marklund switched to Supercars and raced in the European Championship, as well as competing in X-Games. Over the following three years Marklund drove in the FIA World Rallycross Championship for different teams, scoring a personal best 2nd place in Canada in 2014.

In 2017, Marklund decided to focus on the European Championship and combined it with racing the Porsche Carrera Cup Scandinavia to develop as a driver - and it seemed to work as in 2017 he became FIA European Rallycross Champion for Supercars.

Remaining in the FIA European Rallycross Championship in 2018, Marklund placed second at the year’s end and also became champion in the Porsche Carrera Cup Scandinavia. Marklund also completed the last three rounds of the FIA World RX season with GC KOMPETITION, and remained for the whole 2019 season where he got the team's best result with 2nd in Loheac, and also took the chequered flag to win in Hell RX only to be disqualified after the event.

2020 sees Anton stay with the GC KOMPETITION squad under the newly-formed GCK Bilstein team name., building on the growing relationship between GCK, Anton and Bilstein. And after showing race-winning speed in 2019, he will hope to be challenging for podiums, event wins and a possible title push this season.
